After months of writing and workshopping the music, I can’t wait to hear this stellar group of musicians bring it to life. “Yes, and … music for nine improvisers,” commissioned by Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works Program and funded through the generosity of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, will premier this week in three venues: Northern Illinois University, University of Wisconsin Parkside, and the Reva and David Logan Center at the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
